What is the Masked field and how can I use it?

Focus:  The focus of this self-help article is to provide steps and information to about the PandaDoc “Masked” Field and how it can be used in documents and templates.

What is a Masked field?:  Masked — With the Masked field, this can be added to your document, if you need to block recipients information from being displayed to other recipients. A good example of this, lets say you are sending this to two or more recipients. One of the recipients have confidential information (such as credit card information) and you don’t want to show this for all recipients. Please note that the document author, team members who have access to the document and the recipient completing the masked field will be able to see the masked content.

CC’d and team member of account which the document was sent?  If you have CC’d team members who are apart of your account from which the document was sent, when they download the PDF file, they will be able to information in the masked field.

Step 1: Uploading a document and selecting a Masked field. Upload a document, select “Fields” on the right. Select and hold down your mouse on the Masked field and place it on the document.

Step 2: Masked field options  Includes a “Title” option and a “required” option.  Add your recipient and click “Apply”.

Step 3: Removing Masked field. If you ever need to remove this field, use the red “remove” link found in options.
