Focus: The focus of this self-help article is to provide steps and information to about the PandaDoc Editor content block “Cover Page”
What is the Cover Page Block?: The Cover Page block is used to create a cover page for your documents/templates. The Cover Page will show on the Web Version and PDF Version of the completed sent document.
Step 1: Create a document/template. Click on “New Document/New Template” on the upper right and then click on “Create a Doc”/”Create a template”.
Step 2: Adding the Cover Page content block. Over on the right, click and drag the Cover Page block into the middle of the screen.
Step 3: Cover Page Content Block Layout Options. With the Cover Page block, you have numerous ways in order to configure the cover page for your needs.
Step 4-A: Adding Content – Background Image The first option in settings is to choose a default image OR the ability to upload your own cover page image. Depending on your Paper Size in Settings “More… > Design > “Edit Theme” > Paper Size. If you are using A4 –We recommend an image to be uploaded of 800(w) x 1134(h) pixels. If you are using US Letter – We recommend an image to be uploaded of 800(w) x 1036(h) pixels.
Larger images can also be used to help provide a better quality PDF version and sharper looks on retina displays. For that you need to upload a double sized image – 1700(w) х 2405(h) for A4 and 1700(w) х 2205(h) for US Letter.
The following image file types are supported JPG, PNG, GIF. Usually JPGs are a better choice for cover pages.
Click on the green button “Upload Image” to use an image file from your computer or import one from Dropbox, Google Drive, Box or OneDrive.
Background image can also be saved to the Image Library to be used again and again….
Step 4-B: Adding Content – Logo Image. The other option for an image is to upload your own logo to the cover page. First, you will see “Show Logo”, this is selection option if you wish to use the logo option. This is recommend that this is unchecked if you use your own Background image. Layout options, you will also see three different layouts for your logo, including Left, Center, and Right. When you upload a file for this image location, the image will be small in size. There is no way to expand this to make this larger. If you want a larger “company logo”, please create your own cover page image, as described in Step4-A Please note: The columns that show in the editor and can also be moved up and down.
Step 4-C: Adding Content – Text Layout You will also see “Text Layout” that has two options for one or two columns of text. Having these options there are a lot of different ways to include text into your Cover Page. Please note: The columns that show in the editor and can also be moved up and down. PandaDoc Document Builder – Tokens can also be used for this text.
Step 4-D: Cover Page Title – This option provides you the option to add your cover page title to the cover page. Please note: This block of text (title) that shows in the editor and can also be moved up and down. PandaDoc Document Builder – Tokens can also be used for this text.
Step 5: Adding other content. Once you have the cover page content added, be sure to look at the other Content Blocks for the PandaDoc Editor.
